AFRICAN MUSIC and CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2022
The African Music and Cultural Festival is delighted to return to the Federation Square to bring the tastes, sounds and rhythms of Africa back this November.
After an unprecedented year of lockdowns, the African Music and Cultural Festival (AMCF) is thrilled to be back for its first ever in person THREE DAY event at the FEDERATION SQUARE, MELBOURNE CBD.
In its ninth year, AMCF is a firm fixture on the Melbourne events calendar. Due to overwhelming demand this year’s festival will showcase a three day program. In celebration of summer and the easing of restrictions, AMCF will be bringing the vibrance of African culture back to our much loved city of Melbourne on Friday 18 November from 10am – 10pm and Sunday 20 November from 10am – 7pm. The three day event will be packed with the vibrant energy and brilliance of our festival that our fans have come to know and love.
Although it may look a little different, expect a fantastic celebration of diversity and harmony that brings the sounds, rhythms, and flavours of Africa to life.
This is a free event, however due to the Victorian Department of Health COVID-19 restrictions, a ticketed system will be in place. Guests aged 16 and over will be required to check in on arrival and, as per State Government mandate, and show proof of full vaccination status deration
2022 AMCF @ Fed Square
The three-day festival will feature a multi-layered program delivering nonstop live entertainment on Friday (5pm – 10pm) and Sunday (10am – 7pm). Entertainment will showcase dance, fashion, free drumming lessons, arts; along with authentic mouth-watering African street food – there is plenty of opportunity to learn about the diverse African continent.
For families, there is kid’s entertainment including African drumming classes, face painting, Santa’s grotto, balloonist and more!
It is set to be a fantastic taster of what’s to come at next year’s much anticipated AMCF festival, which for the first time will be held over three days from Friday 18 November to Sunday 20 November 2022 at Melbourne’s Federation Square.
